August is here and what an exciting summer it has been. If you’re like me and you’ve been keeping up with the Olympics, you may have seen the USA Rugby Women’s Sevens team win their first-ever Olympic medal in rugby sevens and take home the bronze!

With a goal to save water and create an eye-catching design, Chula Vista
residents Laura and Jaime transformed their thirsty turf yard into
a stunning, water-wise oasis through planning and lots of hard work.
The award-winning landscape provides beauty in their neighborhood and
inspires others to achieve more beauty with less water.
Our Business Outreach efforts, led by Vivian Valenzuela our Business Outreach Director, involve in-person visits to each business in South County. Since March of this year, she has successfully reached out to 500 businesses, ensuring that we assess their needs and provide the necessary support for various business services.
The South County EDC has a goal to reach 3K Businesses by end of Fiscal Year 2023-2024.

In the second quarter of 2024, Californians purchased 118,181 zero-emission
vehicles (ZEVs) representing 25.7% of all new vehicle sales in the
state.
That’s nearly 10,000 more than the first three months of the year and
the second highest ever market share.

The program will equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary
to create a solid business plan, laying the foundation for their
ventures.
Navigating Regulations
We will assist students in understanding and obtaining the necessary
permits and licenses required for their businesses.
The County of San Diego is committed to removing barriers and making support services accessible to everyone, especially at-risk populations. Community Pop-up Resource Events are proving to be very effective in bringing support directly to the people who are eligible.
