The Southern Border Coalition is part of California's California Jobs First (Formerly CERF Community Economic Resilience Fund). At the state level, California Jobs First is allocating $5 million to each region to create plans that diversify and equalize the local economy with climate change in mind.
The Coalition aims to foster long-term economic resilience across San Diego and Imperial Counties and coordinates competitive applications for additional funding from the state government.
With the second round of public comment for the Regional Plan Part I closing in a few days, the Southern Border Coalition urges you to submit your feedback before July 31st for review, consideration, and/or inclusion in the next draft. Feedback received after the July 31st deadline will be considered for future updates of the Regional Plan.

Greetings, friends and colleagues.
Last month, the Water Authority had a unique opportunity to assist
the city of Calgary during a catastrophic pipeline failure. Despite
being more than 1,600 miles away, our operations and maintenance team
was able to quickly send Calgary two spare sections of pipe they needed
to rebuild their water delivery system.
I want to take a moment to recognize our team for their enthusiastic
support of our neighbors to the north. To me, this support underscores
the interconnectedness of communities across the country and across
borders – something we will all continue to rely on as infrastructure
challenges grow around the globe.
Dan Denham
General Manager
San Diego County Water Authority
P.S. See how the Water Authority helped keep the water flowing in Calgary.
